Trade unions and the Spanish government agree to increase the minimum wage to 1,000 euros from 1 January 2022.
The Spanish government and the trade unions UGT and CCOO have agreed to increase the minimum wage to €1,000 gross in 14 payments. The increase is to be applied retroactively from 1 January of that year. This increase is 35 euros per month more than the previous minimum wage approved last September 2021, and the amount increases from 965 euros per month for fourteen payments to 1,000 euros for fourteen payments.
Therefore, under these agreements, the amounts are as follows:
- In general, 14,000 euros gross per year and 33.33 euros gross per day: 1,000 euros gross in 14 payments or 1,166.6 euros gross in 12 payments.
- 47.36 gross for seasonal and casual workers who are not employed by the same company for more than 4 months (120 days).
- By €7.82 gross per effective hour of work in the case of domestic workers.
