New grants for the catering sector in Catalonia

On September 18, the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) published the regulatory bases for the presentation of new grants in the catering sector for the promotion of Catalan gastronomy. Within these subsidies, companies will be able to apply for two types of subsidies:
 
Aid line 1 for cooperative projects aimed at promoting traditional Catalan gastronomy of projects between two or more restaurateurs, aimed at the enhancement of gastronomy. Amount: from 40,000 to 60,000 euros.
 
Line 2 of aid for innovation projects in gastronomy, aimed at subsidizing projects to promote the use of local products. Amount: 40,000 euros.
 
Eligible expenses are the purchase or rental of material necessary to carry out the project, as well as technical advice, promotion costs, personnel expenses that form part of the project and indirect personnel expenses.
 
Who is eligible for these grants?
 
Individuals and legal entities whose main activity is the hotel and catering industry, as well as associations, foundations and private non-profit organizations dedicated to the promotion and development of gastronomy, as stated in their by-laws.
